First things first...YOU'RE wrong.

My first gripe, that I feel goes well with kicking things off regarding a blog that complains about others' shortcomings, has to do with correcting people. We've all been there. Someone will be conversing in an informal setting, whether in the workplace, or outside, and make a statement. Enter a friend/family/acquaintance interjection of correction.

Example:

Person A: "He supposably should be here."
Person B: "Actually, its 'supposedly,' not 'supposably.'"

Now, this may be ironic coming from someone that is now blogging about stupidity and people's shortcomings, especially coupled with the fact that I will end up telling a LOT of people out there that they are doing something wrong. But there's a time and a place for all of that. Face to face in front of several peers and/or family members is NOT the correct venue. Furthermore, this isn't even the true gripe I want to get to, but I still wanted to get that point in: stop being a rude and inconsiderate ass. Be respectful of someone's feelings and be aware of your environment. Because BELIEVE me, if I catch you down talking someone for an innocent mistake, I will go OUT OF MY WAY to point out EVERY mistake you EVER make in my presence. Just to show you how it feels, and make you look like a bigger idiot than the person you tried to correct. Call people stupid in one-on-one conversations, or on blogs (but anonymously). That's it.

But my TRUE gripe is regarding the incorrect correction of peers. We've all been here too, trust me. This occurs when someone tries to flex their knowledge muscle, and it doesn't work.

Example:

Person A: "That's interesting symbology."
Person B: "You mean symbolism. Symbology is wrong."

Person B needs a PUNCH IN THE FACE. Why? Not only did they correct someone, likely at an inappropriate moment or around people which made the timing of the correction inappropriate, but Person A isn't necessarily wrong in their statement. This is just one example, but BOTH terms allow for the use of the root 'symbol' in a noun form, reflecting the USE of a symbol or symbol system, but there CAN be a slight distinction in that symbology primarily refers to the use of symbolism. However, according to definitions by Merriam Webster....

Symbolgy: 1. the art of expression by symbols     or      3. a system of symbols
Symbolism: 1. the art or practice of using symbols...etc etc      or    2. a system of symbols or representations

So I'm PRETTY SURE, that if you're describing the SYSTEM OF SYMBOLS, or the USE OF A SYMBOL, it would appear that these terms can be used interchangeably, if used correctly. That being said, my ULTIMATE GRIPE here is Person B, not only correcting someone in a very ass-like way, but they're not even right! If someone is going to go out of their way to try and correct someone, at least be right! I know you WANT to look smart, but you look like a dumbass.

Welcome to P.I.T.Face!! My blog celebrating all the reasons I should be able to punch certain people in the face! I know it sounds mean, spiteful, unnecessary, but let's be honest...in the current electronic age, with all the access we have to other people (albeit electronic access), databases, learning devices, et cetera, the current number of legitimate excuses one can use to defend their stupidity SHOULD be far and few between. Unfortunately, this is not the case, and stupidity seems to be at an all-time high. In fact, a test, available here can show if you also fall prey to the disease of stupidity.

Regardless of all of that, this blog will undoubtedly offend some people. But, this can also be seen as an opportunity. For both of us, really. An opportunity not only for me to vent my anger in a non-physical fashion, but also an opportunity for you to learn something. I don't claim to be perfect, either, so please don't think I'm here looking down upon ALL...but definitely the majority. Especially while there are shows like Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and Gypsy Sisters on the air. If there are people that are being reimbursed for their stupidity at a higher rate than I am for my intelligence, there's something wrong.

That's fairly global though, and I'll be looking at a much smaller scope. Everyday occurrences that several people have to deal with in their lives, versus televised persons' lives. Stay tuned, and let the gripe fest begin!!!
